Original Length = 12.5 m
Original Breadth = 10.5 m
Area = Length× Breadth= 131.25 m²

After adding the width of Verandah :

New Length = 12.5+2+2= 16.5 m
New Breadth = 10.5+2+2 = 14.5 m

New Area = Length × Breadth = 239.25

Now ,

Area of Verandah = New Area - Original Area = 239.25-131.25 = 108 m² .

Heya!!

Length of room = 12.5 m,
Breadth of room = 10.5 m

Area of a room = 12.5 * 10.5 m^2

= 131.25 m^2

Since it is surrounded by a verandah 2m wide all around,

Whole length = 12.5 + 2 + 2 m

= 16.5 m.,

Whole Breadth = 10.5 + 2 + 2 m

= 14.5 m.

Area = 16.5 * 14.5 m^2

= 239.25 m^2

Hence area occupied by verandah = 239.25 m^2

Area btw them = 239.25 - 131.25 = 108 m^2

Hope it helps uh!!

basantshukla28pbeflv: Two cross-roads each of 5 m width run at right angles through the centre of a retangular park 70m by 50m, such that each is Parallel to one of the sides of the park. Find the area of remaining portion of the park
basantshukla28pbeflv: please answer
Leukonov: Area of Rectangular park=70×50=3500m²
Leukonov: area covered by cross roads=[70×5]+[50×5]-[5×5]=350+250-25=575m²
Leukonov: So Remaining area=3500-575=2925m²
