dassomya2003: Delhi...why?
sabbira: simply
sabbira: A rectangular field 58 m long and 30 m wide has two cross roads one parallel to its lenght and other parallel to its width. find the area of cross roads if each is 2m long
dassomya2003: 180 m^2 is the answer.
sabbira: but how
dassomya2003: I will explain u the steps....first find the area of the rectangular field with the given dimensions...then to find the area of the roads first add 2 to 58 and then 2 to 30 and then again multiply them...then finally subtract the bigger no. from the smaller one...then u will get the answer that is 180m^2.
sabbira: thanks

Area of the room is given by 4 * 5.5 = 22m2

Area of the verandah with room is (5.5 + 1.25 + 1.25) * (4 + 1.25 + 1.25) = 8 * 6.5 = 52

Area of only verandah = 52 - 22 = 30m2

Cost of cementing the floor of the verandah = 15 Rs/m2

Total cost of cementing 30m2 verandah = 30 * 15 = 450 Rs
