A room 9.5m long and 6m wide is surrounding by a1.25m wide verandah calculate the cost of cementing the floor of this verandah at 80per m²

Here is your answer,

Length of room = 9.5 m

Width of room = 6 m

Area of room = 6 × 9.5

= 57 m²²

Length of Outer rectangle = 9.5 + 2.5 = 12 m

Width of outer rectangle = 6 + 2.5 = 8.5 m

Area of outer rectangle = 12 × 8.5

= 102 m²²

Area of verandah = 102 - 57

= 45 m²

Cost = 45 × 80

= Rs 3600

here's ur answer...

given the Length of the room is 9.5m and breadth is 6m.

area of the room = l×b

= 9.5×6

= 57m²

if the verandah is 1.25m wide and surrounded the room, then the length of the verandah is = 9.5+1.25+1.25

= 9.5+2.5

= 12m

breadth of the verandah = 6+1.25+1.35

= 6+2.5

= 8.5m

hence area of the the room along with the verandah = l×b

= 12×8.5

= 102m²

therefore area of the verandah = 102-57

= 45m²

total cost of cementing the verandah is per m² costs ₹80 = 45×80

= ₹3600
