Qᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ:-

A room floor having length 6 m and width 2 m has to be covered using square tiles with side 0.4 m. Find the total no.of tiles to be purchased.

Fᴏʀᴍᴜʟᴀs Usᴇᴅ:-

  • Area of square = side * side
  • Area of rectangle = length * width
  • No. of tiles required = (Area of floor)/(Area of tiles)

Aɴsᴡᴇʀ:-

The floor is rectangular in shape

↠The length of the floor is 6m and width is 2m

↠So it's area is = length * breadth = 6m * 2m = 12m²

The tiles are square in shape

↠The side of the square is 0.4m

↠So it's area is = side * side = 0.4 * 0.4m² = 0.16m²

★No. of tiles required = (Area of floor)/(Area of tiles)

↠12m²/0.16m²

↠(12 * 100)/16

↠1200/16

75

Aɴsᴡᴇʀ = 75 tiles.

Given : A room floor having length 6 m and width 2 m has to be covered using square tiles with side 0.4 m.

To find : What is the total no of tiles to be purchased.

Formula :

★ Total number of tiles = Area of floor/Area of single tile.

Calculations :

→ Area of floor = 6 (2)

Area of floor = 12 m²

→ Area of single floor = 0.4²

→ Area of single floor = (0.4 × 0.4)

Area of single floor = 0.16 m²

→ Total number of tiles = 12/0.16

Total number of tiles = 75 tiles

Therefore, 75 tiles is the total number of tiles to be purchased.
