Answer:

Cost =Rs.15200

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A room is 10 m long, 7 m broad. It has two windows each measuring 2 m by 1 m and two doors each measuring 1.5 m by. 5 m. If the height of the room is 15 m.

To find : The cost of painting its four walls at rupees 6.20 per square meter?

Solution :

Length of room=8.5 m

Breadth of room=6.5 m

Height of room=3.4 m

Area of four walls= 2[(l+b)×h]

= 2[(8.5 + 6.5) ×3.4]

=2[15×3.4]

=2×51

= 102 meter square.

Area of two doors =2[l×b]

=2[1.5×1]

=2×1.5

= 3 meter square.

Area of window = 2[l×b]

=2[2×1]

=2×2

=4 meter square.

Area of four walls excluding the doors and windows

= area of four walls -area of door + area of window

=102 -3+4

= 102 -7

=95 meter square.

Cost of painting its four walls = area of four walls excluding doors and windows × 160 per m^2

Cost =95×160

Cost =Rs.15200
