A room is 12 metre long and 8 metre broad and it contains 480 metre cube of air. find the cost of colouring its walls at rupees 15 per square metre​

Room breadth = 8 m

Room volume = 480 m³

Volume = lbh (h = room height)

=> 480 = 12*8*h

=> 480 = 96h

=> 480/96 = h

∴ h = 5 m

Now, colouring walls (this is excluding floor and ceiling) = LSA of room

LSA of cuboid = 2h(l + b)

=> 2*5(12 + 8)

=> 10*20 => 200 m²

Cost of colouring its walls = Rs. 15/m²

∴ Total cost = 15*200 => Rs. 3000
