Answer with explanation:

Length of the rectangular room= 15m
Breadth of the room= 8m
Area of rectangle= length x breadth
Therefore, area of the room= 15x8= 120 square m

Side of the square carpet= 6m
Area of square= side x side
Therefore, area of the carpet= 6x6= 36 square m

Area of the floor not carpeted= 120-36 = 84 square m

Length of the floor is 15m

The breadth of the floor is 8m

So, ( applying ar. l×b )

ar. of floor =15m×8m=120m.Side of the carpet is 6m

So, (applying ar. of sq. =side×side(s))

area of carpet=6m×6m=36m.

To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will (−) minus the ar. of the floor from ar. of carpet

area which is not carpeted or( uncarpeted ) =120m−36m

=84m.

Hence, it 84m (area) is not carpeted.

I hope it can help you.
