Given:-

  • Length of room = 17m

  • Breadth of room = 10m

  • Side of square carpet = 12m

To find:-

  • Area of the floor which will remains bare = ?

Solution:-

We know that Room is of cuboidal form and its floor shape is Rectangular.

Therefore, Area of floor = Area of Rectangle

Area of rectangle = Length (l) × Breadth (b)

Put the values of Length and breadth in formula:-

= 17 × 10

= 170cm²

Hence, we get Area of room = 170cm²

Now, We have to find area of square carpet,

Area of square = Side²

Put the values of side in formula:-

= 12²

= 144cm²

Hence, We get Area of Square carpet = 144cm²

Now, We have to find Area of floor which will remains bare:

Area of floor - Area of square carpet

= 170 - 144

= 26cm²

Therefore, Area of Floor which will remains bare = 26cm²

Given

  • Length of room = 17m
  • Width of room = 10m
  • Side of square carpet = 12m

 \\

Formula

  • Area of square = side × side
  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth

 \\

To Find

  • Area of the remaining floor.

 \\

Answer

Area of rectangular room,

 \bf \implies length \: \times breadth \\ \\ \bf \implies17m \times 10m \\ \\ \bf \implies170m {}^{2} \\ \\

Area of square carpet,

 \bf \implies(side) {}^{2} \\ \\ \bf \implies(12m) {}^{2} \\ \\ \bf \implies144m {}^{2} \\ \\

Area of remaining floor = (Area of rectangular room) - ( area of square carpet)

\bf \implies = (170 - 144)m {}^{2} \\

 \large \implies \boxed {\boxed {\tt \green {= 26m {}^{2} }}}

 \\

Hence, area of the floor which will remains is 26m².
