area of the room= length × width = 26 × 15 = 390 sq m

area of the carpet = side × side= 14 × 14= 196 sq m

So area of the uncovered area= 390 - 196 = 194sq m

Answer:

Area of the room which is not carpeted = 194 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Dimensions of a room:

Length (L)=26 m,

Width (W) = 15 m

Dimensions of a square carpet :

Length of the edge (a) = 14 m

Area of the room not carpeted =

Area of the room - Area of the carpet

= L × W -

= 26 m × 15 m - (14 m)²

= 390 - 196

= 194

Therefore,

Area of the room which is not carpeted = 194
