A room is 4 m long and 3 m 25 cm wide. How many square metres of carpet is needed to cover the floor of the room?

Area of room = area of carpet

L=400 cm, B= 325 cm

Area of room = L X B

                      = 400 X 325

                      = 130000 cm²

                      = 13 m²
