Given, length of room = 4 m
           breadth of room = 3 m 50 cm = 3.5 m
Carpet needed to cover the floor room = area of the floor
                                                              = length × breadth
                                                              = 4 × 3.5
                                                              = 14 m²
∴ Area of carpet requires to cover the floor = 14 m²

GIVEN,

length of the room is 4m, breadth of the room is 3m50cm

TO FND,

area of carpet required to cover the room floor.

SOLUTION,

we know that the area of the floor will be equal to the area of carpet required to cover the floor.

∴area of the floor = length x breadth

lenght= 4m, breadth= 3m 50cm= 3.5 m

substituting the values,

area= 4x 3.5 m²

area= 14 m²

therefore the area of the floor is 14m² that means the area of carpet will be the same as it needs to cover the whole floor,

HENCE THE AREA OF CARPET REQUIRED TO COVER THE FLOOR IS 14m².
