TeenTitansGo: well question is not correct... because if question is correct my answer ie correct...but according to the asker your answer is correct therefore question is not correct
siddhartharao77: A small correction..U have written Area of two doors = 2(1.5 * 1). It should be 2(1.5 * 1.5).
siddhartharao77: ohh.. Then u have to say that question is incorrect and u have to explain the solution for the correct question!.....
siddhartharao77: ok

In order to find the area which should be painted we have to subtract the area of doors and windows from the area of all walls.

Area of four walls = 2( length + breadth ) × height

Area of four walls = 2( 8.5 m + 6.5 m ) × 3.4 m

Area of four walls = 2 × 15 m × 3.4 m

Area of four walls = 102 m²

Door is in the shape of square as sides are equal therefore the area of door will be side²

Area of door = 1.5 m × 1.5 m

Area of door = 2.25 m²

number of doors = 2

Hence, total area covered by doors = 2 × Area of one door

Total area covered by doors = 2 × 2.25 m²

Total area covered by doors = 4.5 m²

Then, windows are in the shape of rectangle as sides are not equal and only measurements are given therefore area of window will be length × breadth

Area of window = 2 m × 1 m

Area of window = 2 m²

Total number of windows = 2

Hence, total area covered by windows = 2 × Area of one window

Total area covered by windows = 2 × 2 m²

Total area covered by windows = 4 m²

Therefore area which is to be painted = total area - area of doors - area of windows

Area which is to be painted = 102 m² - 4.5 m² - 4 m²

Area which is to be painted = 93.5 m²

Cost of painting = Price of painting 1 square metre × area in metres

Cost of painting = Rs 160 / m² × 93.5 m²

Cost of painting = Rs 14960
