square carpet of 2m is laid on the floor. Find the area of the floor which is not carpeted​

length of floor=8m

breadth of floor=5m

area of floor=length×breadth

=8×5

=40 sq.m

side of carpet=2m

area of carpet =side×side

=2×2

=4 sq.m

area of floor not carpeted=area of floor-area of carpet

=40-4

=36m
