Solution

Given

  • Length of rectangular room = 9m
  • Wide of rectangular room = 7m
  • 36 Floor of room coverd by carpet

Find

  • How much area of the floor is not carpeted.

Explanation

Using Formula

\boxed{\underline{\tt{\red{\:Area_{rectangular\:room}\:=\:(Lenght\times Breadth)}}}}

keep all above Values,

==> Area of rectangular room = 9 × 7

==> Area of rectangular room = 63 m²

But, floor of room only 36 coverd by carpet.

So,

==> Area of floor room whose is not covered by carpet = Area of room - Area of coverd floor

==> Area of floor room whose is not covered by carpet = 63 - 36

==> Area of floor room whose is not covered by carpet = 27 m²

Hence

  • 27 area of floor , whose not covered by carpet.

Corrected Question :-

  • A room is 9m long and 7m wide. A 36 sq m carpet covers part of the floor. How much area of the floor is not carpeted ?

Answer :-

Given :-

  • Length of room = 9m
  • Breadth of room = 7m
  • Area of carpet = 36m²

To find :-

  • Find the area of floor that is not carpeted.

Solution :-

⇒Length of room = 9m

⇒Breadth of room = 7m

⇒Area of room = length × Breadth

⇒9m × 7m

⇒63m²

→Area of room = 63m²

→Area of carpet = 36m²

  • Now,  we will find how much area of floor is not carpeted.

Area of floor that is not carpeted

= total area of floor - Area of floor that is carpeted.

= 63m² - 36m²

= 27m²

∴ 27m² of floor is not carpeted.
