Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of the room are 4.8×5.04.

So the longest square tile without cutting which can be used is a tile with a side measuring 4.8m.

Therefore,

The square tile which can be used is of measurements 4.8×4.8 with an area of 23.04 m.sq

Given :-

  • Length of rectangular room = 4.8 m

  • Breadth of rectangular room = 5.04 m

To Find :-

  • Side of of largest square tile used in the floor of the room.

Solution :-

We are given the dimension of the rectangular room in the floor of which we have to put the square tiles .

It means that the area of floor will be either equal or greater than the area of the largest square tile that we can put on the floor .

\sf{\red{\implies\ Area\ of\ floor\  \geqslant Area\ of\ tile}}

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

\sf{\implies Area = 4.8 \times 5.04  }

\sf{\implies Area = 24.192  }

\sf{\implies Area\ of\ Square\ tile \leqslant 24.192  }

Area of square is side square .

Let's assume that the side of square is s.

\sf{\implies {S}^{2} \leqslant 24.192  }

\sf{\implies  {S}^{2} =  {4.9}^{2} = 24.01}

So the side of largest square tile will be 4.9 metre.
