Step-by-step explanation:

let the length of each piece = 6x & 7x

now according to the question

6x + 7x = 1.17m

13x = 1.17

x = 1.17 / 13

x = 0.09

so, 6x = 0.09 × 6 = 0.54 m or 54cm

7x = 0.09 × 7 = 0.63

S, the lenght of each piece is 63 cm & 54 cm

Check :

63 + 54 = 117 cm or 1.17 m
