Answer:

The ribbon is 131 cm longer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the wire be x

The length of the rope = x + 9

The length of the ribbon = 8x

Total length = 209 cm

ATQ,

x + x + 9 + 8x = 209 cm

10x + 9 = 209 cm

10x = 209 - 9

10x = 200

x = 200/10

x = 20 cm

Length of rope = 20 + 9 = 29cm

Length of ribbon = 20 * 8 = 160cm

Hence the ribbon is 160 - 29 = 131 cm longer than the rope

Answer:

131 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The ribbon is 131 cm longer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the wire be x

The length of the rope = x + 9

The length of the ribbon = 8x

Total length = 209 cm

ATQ,

x + x + 9 + 8x = 209 cm

10x + 9 = 209 cm

10x = 209 - 9

10x = 200

x = 200/10

x = 20 cm

Length of rope = 20 + 9 = 29cm

Length of ribbon = 20 * 8 = 160cm

Hence the ribbon is 160 - 29 = 131 cm longer than the rope
