Length of first piece = 2(12+6)
= 36 cm
Length of second piece = 60-36
= 24cm
A hexagon has six sides
So each side = 24/6 = 4cm

The length of each side of the hexagon is 4 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

length of the rope =  cm

Length of the rectangle 'l' = 12 cm

Breadth of the rectangle 'b' = 6 cm

We know that

                        Perimeter of the rectangle 'P' = 2 x (l + b)

                                                                ⇒ P = 2 x (12 + 6)

                                                                ⇒ P = 36 cm

So rest of the lentght of the wire is 24 cm.

So,

Perimeter of the hexagon  = 24 cm

We know that,

                                   perimeter of the hexagon = 6 x s

where 's' is the side of the hexagon

                So,

                                                    ⇒24 = 6 x s

                                                     ⇒ s = 4 cm
