A rope of length 7.2cm was cut into three pieces. the first piece was 3times as long as the second piece. The second piece was twice as long as the third piece. How long was the second piece?.

third piece =x cm

therefore second piece=2x cm

therefore first piece=6x cm

6x+2x+x=7.2

=>9x=7.2

=>x= 0.8

second piece=0.8×2=1.6 cm
