A rope that is 2 feet and 6 inches long is cut into 3 strips in a ratio of 2:3:5 a.How long is the longest piece? b.How much longer is the longest piece than the shortest piece? c.What is the length of each piece if they are cut in a 1:2:3 ratio?

30 x 5/10 = 15



The longest piece is 15 in.



30 x 2/10 = 6



Shortest piece is 6 in. Therefore the longest piece is longer by 9 in.

30 x 3/6 = 15



The length of each piece would be 5 in, 10 in, and 15 in.
