Side of square(a)=28m
Area of square=(side)^2
=(28)^2
=784m^2
The sprinkler will make a circle with radius 14m.
Area of circle=πr^2
=22/7×14×14
=616m^2
Area that the sprinkler cannot reach=Area of square - Area of circle
=784 - 616
=168m^2
Hope this helps.

Answer:

It is based on the Newton's third law of motion. As soon as the water comes out from the nozzle of the sprinkler, an equal and opposite reaction force acts on the nozzle. Due to this reaction force, the sprinkler starts rotating.
