This happens because pressure is applied on the band which makes it to change the shape and it gains its originalshape when released. So, its asolid.

Yes it can be called as a solid because as we know that solid particles have strong intermolecular force. Moreover rubber doesn't depend on container for shape but it has it's initial shape unless any external forces are applied so, it is not liquid. It also doesn't occupy all the space provided to it rather it occupies a definite volume in it's initial state unless any external forces are applied on it, so, it is not gas. When it is neither gas nor liquid, it is definitely a solid body.

Thanks.
