A runner after winning the race , felt cramps in his leg muscles. He was adviced to take rest for some time and then take part in another race competition.
a) what causes cramps in muscular after vigorous exercise like running?
b) why was the runner asked to take rest for some time?
c) how can this condition be avoided by the runners?

This happens because of anaerobic respiration. In this type of respiration pyruvate compound is broken down into lactic acid due to absence of oxygen.. So this lactic acid give pain to our body muscle.. Hope it helps

A) when we do vigorous exercise we need more oxygen. So due to lack of oxygen lactic acid form and thus happens crumps.
B) the runner is asked to take rest so that he or she get adequate amount of oxygen.
