Given: length=500m

          time = 4 minutes

We have to find the speed in km/s

  • So first, we will convert length which is given in meter to km

500m = 500 × 10⁻³ km

         = 0.5 km

  • Now, we will convert the time into seconds

4 minutes = 4 × 60 seconds

                =240 seconds

  • Speed is defined as the distance covered in unit time.

Speed = distance / time

           = 0.5/240

            = 0.002 km/s

The speed with which the running man crosses the bridge is 0.002 km/s

From the given question the correct answer is:

The speed with which the running man crosses the bridge is 0.002 km/s

Given:

length=500m

time = 4 minutes

to find:

the speed in km/s

Concept used:

Converting the units meter to kilometer

and minutes to second

Speed = distance / time

Solution:

So first, we have to convert length that is given in meters to km

1km =1000 m

converting

500m = 500 × 10⁻³ km

          = 0.5 km

Now, we will convert the time into seconds

1 minute = 60 seconds

converting

4 minutes = 4 × 60 seconds

                 =240 seconds

Speed is defined as the distance covered in unit time.

Speed = distance / time

           = 0.5/240

            = 0.002 km/s

hence,The speed with which the running man crosses the bridge is 0.002 km/s
