Given:

A running track of 450 m long.

There are 6 lanes and each lane is 75 cm wide.

To find:

How wide is the running track?

Solution:

The length of the running track = 450 m

The no. of lanes in the running track = 6

The width of each lane of the running track = 75 cm

Therefore,

The width of the running track will be,

= [No. of lanes] × [Width of each lane]

= 6 × 75 cm

= 450 cm

∵ 1 cm = 0.01 m

= \frac{450 }{100}\:m

= \bold{4.5\:m}

Thus, the width of the running track is → 4.5 m.
