let the age of B=x

then the age of A= x×5

ten year later

B's age will be X×3

(x×3)=(x×5)

Xsqare+5x=3x+15

Xsqare +5x-3x-15

Xsqare +5x-3x-15=0

x (x+5)-3 (x+5)

(x+5)(x-3)

(x+5)=0 , (x-3)=0

x= -5 ,x=3

so A's age =x×3

3×3=9 year
