Step-by-step explanation:
Let the age of A be 'a' years
2 years ago, Age of B will be 1/4×(a-2)
B's present age will be 1/4(a-2) + 2
After 8 years,
(a+8)= ( 1/4(a-2) + 2 + 8 ) + 12
a= 1/4a - 1/2 +14
4a = a - 2 + 56
3a = 54
a= 18
B' age= 1/4(a-2) +2 = 1/4×16 +2 = 6
Therefore, ratio of A:B = 18:6 = 3:1
