B's Income is 100, A's income is 20% Less than B's, A's income will be 80% of 100— i.e. 80. Now,if A 's income is compared to B's , it is 20 % more than A, ,from B's perspective, but from A's Perspective, B has 20 more than his 80, and it is 25% of 80.

Given:

A's income is 20% less than that of B

To find:

The per cent by which B's income is more than A's

Solution:

The income of B is 25% more than A's.

Let the income of B be Rs.100.

We are given that A's income is 20% less than that of B.

So, using this, we will obtain A's income.

A's income=20% less than B's income

A's income=B's income-20% of B's income

Using values,

A's income=100-20% of 100

A's income=100-20

A's income=Rs.80

Now, we will obtain the difference between A's and B's income and obtain the required percentage.

B's income is more than A's by=B's income-A's income=Rs.100-Rs.80=Rs.20

The required per cent=(B's income-A's income)/A's income×100

Using values, we get

=20/80×100

=100/4

=25%

Therefore, income of B is 25% greater than A's.
