Let B's income be Rs 100.
Then A's income will be=
=(25% of Rs 100)+ Rs 100
= Rs 125.

Therefore, when A's income is Rs 125,
B's income is less than A by=
=Rs 125 - Rs 100
= Rs 25

Therefore, when A's income is Rs 100,
B's income is less than A by=
= Rs (25/125 × 100)
= Rs 20

Hence, B's income is less than A's income by=
= (Rs20/ Rs100) ×100
= 20%

Solution

Let the income of B's be 100

Given that A's income is 25% more than

that of B's.

⇒ Income of A's

       = 100 + 25% of 100

       = 100 + \dfrac{21}{100}\times100

       = 125.

Now, it clearly shows that B's income

is less than that A's by 25.

⇒ % of B's = \dfrac{25}{125}\times100\%

                 = \dfrac{1}{5}\times100\%

                = 20% answer
