Given,

The length of the saffron ribbon\[ = 24\]

The length of the white ribbon\[ = 32\]

The length of the green ribbon\[ = 42\]

Solution,

Know that the greatest length of the piece so that there is no ribbon left over is the HCF of the given numbers.

Therefore,

\[\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow 24 = 1,2,3,4,6,12,24\\ \Rightarrow 32 = 1,2,4,8,16,32\\ \Rightarrow 42 = 1,2,3,6,7,14,21,42\\ \Rightarrow 2\end{array}\]

Hence, the greatest length of the piece so that there is no ribbon left-over is\[2\] m.
