Remainder = x – 1.5  

B gives up double that amount, meaning B gives up 3  

The remainder = 133.33/100 x – 3  

The amount they have become equal  

x – 1.5 = 133.33/100 x – 3  

x - 133.33/100 x = -3 + 1.5  

-0.3333x = -1.5  

x = 4.5  

Means A has $4.5  

And B has 133.33/100 (4.5) = $6
