Answer :-

  • The person's salary is decreased by 4%.

Given :-

  • The person's salary is increased by 20% and then it is decreased by 20%.

To find :-

  • The person's salary in percent.

Solution :-

We know that the person's salary is increased by 20% and then decreased by 20%.

We are asked to find the salary of the person in percentage.

Let us assume the salary of person 100

The salary of person increased by 20%.

 \implies \sf 100 + 20 = 120

Now, His salary decreased by 20%.

 \boxed{ \sf Total \:  salary - Decreased  \: salary = New \:  salary}

By applying the formula, We get :-

 \implies \sf 120 -  \dfrac{20}{100}  \times 120

By simplifying, We get :-

 \implies \sf 120 - 24 = 96

Now, we have to find difference in the salary.

   \boxed{ \sf Total  \: salary -  \frac{New \:  salary }{100}  \times  100 }

 \implies \sf 100 -  \dfrac{96}{100}   \times  100

 \implies \sf \dfrac{4}{100}  \times 100

 \implies \sf4 \%

Therefore , The person's salary is decreased by 4%.
