Answer:

If the commission for sales upto Rs 8000 and above Rs 8000 are 8% and 12.5% respectively , then the commission a salesman gets for sales of Rs 10000 is Rs 890

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Commission the salesman got for Rs 8000 sale = 8%

that is, 8000*(8/100) = 80*8 = Rs 640

Commission the salesman got for above Rs 8000 sale = 12.5%

Here,

Sales = Rs 10000

so amount for which 12.5% commission. is given = 10000- 8000

= Rs 2000

12.5% = 12.5 /100= 125/1000

12.5% of 2000 = (125/1000)*2000

= 125*2

=Rs 250

so total commission = 640 +250 = 890

So, the commission for Rs 10000 sale is Rs 890
