Given :

The percentage of commission on sale upto Rs 10,000 = 4%

The percentage of commission on sale over Rs 10,000 = 5%

To Find :

The total income on a sale of Rs 35,000

Solution :

The amount of commission on sale upto Rs 10,000 = Rs 10,000 × 4 %

                                                                                      =  Rs 10,000 × \dfrac{4}{100}

                                                                                      = Rs 400

Again

The amount of commission on sale over Rs 10,000 = Rs 10,000 × 5 %

                                                                                      =  Rs 10,000 × \dfrac{5}{100}

                                                                                      = Rs 500

As The total sale is of Rs 35000 , So, The percentage commission on Rs 35000 = 5%

The amount of commission on sale over Rs 35,000 = Rs 35,000 × 5 %

                                                                                      =  Rs 35,000 × \dfrac{5}{100}

                                                                                      = Rs 1750

Hence, The amount of commission on sale over Rs 35,000 is Rs 1750  Answer
