Answer:

2.1507×10^21 atoms is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Given data :

Number of atoms of hydrogen = 200

No of atom of nitrogen = 0.05

Number of atom of oxygen = 10^-20

To find

The approximate number of total atoms

Solution:

We know that

14 grams of nitrogen will require 6.022×10²³ atoms

Therefore 0.05 grams of nitrogen will require x atoms

By cross multiplication,

x = 6.022×10²³ × 0.05/ 14

= 2.1507×10²¹ atoms of nitrogen

Therefore 0.05 grams of nitrogen will require 2.1507×10²¹ atoms

Now we know that,

16 grams of oxygen will require 6.022×10²³ atoms

Therefore 10^-20 grams of oxygen will require x atoms

By cross multiplication,

x = 6.022×10²³ × 10^-20/ 16

= 376.375 atoms

Therefore 10^-20 grams of oxygen will require 376.375atoms

Now total atoms of compund

= atoms of hydrogen+ atoms of nitrogen+ atoms of oxygen

= 200+ 2.1507×10²¹ + 376.375

= 2.1507*10^27 atoms

Hence, 2.1507×10^21 atoms is the correct answer.

Solution:

Number of Hydrogen atoms = 200

Gram atom of Nitrogen = 0.056 g

14 grams atom of nitrogen =  6.022 * 10 ²³ atoms of nitrogen

Therefore , 0.05 grams atom of nitrogen =( 6.022 * 10 ²³ / 14 )  * 0.05

                                                 = 0.0215 * 10²³ atoms of nitrogen.

Oxygen = 10⁻²⁰ g

16 grams atom of oxygen =  6.022 * 10 ²³ atoms of oxygen

10⁻²⁰  grams of oxygen = ( 6.022 * 10 ²³ / 16 )  * 10⁻²⁰ = 376.38 atoms of oxygen.

Total number of atoms = No. of hydrogen atoms + gram atom of nitrogen + gram atom of oxygen

Total number of atoms = 200 + ( 0.0215 * 10²³ ) + 376.38

     Total number of atoms = 2.15 * 10²¹ atoms.
