Fraction of gas escaped = 1-\frac{5}{7.5}=0.333

Explanation:

According to Ideal Gas Law, PV =nRT

where P is pressure , V is volume ,n is no. of moles , R is gas constant  and T is temperature.

There is an open vessel thus pressure remains constant and there will be no change in the volume of vessel.

\frac{V}{T} = constant

\frac{V_1}{T_1} = \frac{V_2}{T_2}

V_1 = 5l  \hspace{1cm} T_1=300k

V_2 = ?  \hspace{1cm} T_2=450k

Equation became, \frac{5}{300} =\frac{V_2}{450}

V_2=\frac{450\times5}{300}

V_2= 7.5l

Thus, Fraction of gas escaped = 1-\frac{5}{7.5}=0.333
