in one mole of Ba(PO4)2 , 8 moles of oxygen atom combine with 2 moles of phosphorus atoms.

so for 0.6 moles of oxygen atom moles of phosphorus atoms= 2/8 x 0.6= 0.15 moles

Answer:

The number of moles phosphorus atoms present is 0.15 moles.

Explanation:

Eight oxygen atoms and two phosphorus atoms combine to form one mole of Ba(PO4)2.

In other words, for every 0.6 moles of oxygen atom, there are 2/8 x 0.6 = 0.15 moles of phosphorus atoms.

Additional information:

  • The unit of measurement used by chemists known as a mole is very significant. In the same way that having a dozen eggs implies you have twelve eggs, having a mole of anything indicates you have 602,214,076,000,000,000,000,000 of that thing.
  • When measuring very small objects like atoms, molecules, or other particles, chemists must use moles.
  • The unit of measurement known as the mole (symbol: mol) refers to the quantity of matter in a system that includes the same number of atoms as there are in 0.012 kilograms of carbon 12.
