Answer:

The new volume is 25mL .

Explanation:

From the above question,

From the above question a sample of carbon dioxide occupies 1.65L at -20.0°c,

Initial volume of the gas = 1.65 mL

Initial pressure = 20 atm

Final pressure = 20 atm

To find he volume of the gas is 2.65L at 35.0 psi :

According to Boyle's Law, we know that :

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂ [ T is constant]

Where :-

P₁ is the initial pressure.

V₁ is the initial volume of the gas.

P₂ is the final pressure.

V₂ is the final volume.

Substituting values, we get :-

20(50) = 40(V₂)

1000 = 40V₂

V₂ = 1000/40

V₂ = 25 mL

Boyle's Law is a gas law which states that the pressure exerted by a gas of given mass, at a constant temperature is inversely proportional to volume occupied by it.

Thus, the new volume is 25mL .
