Answer:15.2 cm^3

Explanation:

Using P1/P2=V2/V1 I got the answer substitute the values so u will get the fraction of 1/3 in the LHS and x/45.6 since u don't know the final volume I took it to be X and upon cross multiplying u will get the value of x as 15.2 cm^3

Given - Volume and pressure

Find - Final volume

Solution - The volume occupied is 15.2 cm³.

The relation used to calculate the final volume is as follows - P1V1 = P2V2.

P1 and V1 are initial pressure and volume. P2 and V2 are final pressure and volume.

Keep the values in the formula to find the value of the final volume.

240*45.6 = 720*V2

V2 = 240*45.6/720

Performing multiplication and division to find the value of final volume.

V2 = 15.2 cm³.

Thus, the volume occupied is 15.2 cm³.
