2.33 Litres

Given:

Volume of the first gas (V1) = 3.5 L

Temperature of the gas (T1) = 300 K

Temperature 2 of the gas (T2) = 200 K

To Find:

Volume it will occupy at 200 K

Calculating:

In this problem we use Charles Law

V1/T1 = V2/T2

Substituting the values known to us in this formula we get:

3.5 / 300 = V2 / 200

3.5 x 200 = 300 V2

700 = 300 V2

Taking 300 to the other side we get:

V2 = 700 / 300

V2 = 2.33 L

Therefore, the gas will occupy a volume of 2.33 Litres at 200 K.
