A sample of mixture of CaCl2, and NaCl weighing 4.22 g was treated to precipitate all the Ca as
Caco3, which was then heated and quantitatively converted to 0.959 g of Cao. Calculate the percentage

Answer:

Ca present in 1.68 g CaO is 1.2 g.

So, original mixture has 1.2 g Ca means

=1.2 × 111/40

=3.33 g CCaCl2.

Hence, mass percent of CCaCl2.

= 33.3/5.55 ×100

=60 %. ans.
