A sample of soil weighing 150g was taken and then it was dried completely by keeping in
sunshine. The mass of dried soil is 135 g. Calculate the percentage of water (or moisture) in
the given sample of soil.

Mass of dried soil = 135 g

Mass of water that has been dried = 150 g - 135 g = 15 g

percentage of water given in the sample = mass of water driedtotal mass of the soil × 100
