The density of calcite will be option B) 2.7 g/cm³

Given mass of the sample of calcite = 40.5 grams,

volume of the sample of calcite = 15 cm³

we know that density of a material is defined as the ratio of mass and volume

=> density = \frac{mass}{volume}

=> ρ = m/v

=> ρ = 40.5/15

=> ρ = 2.7 g/cm³

Hence the density of calcite will be option B) 2.7 g/cm³

Volume of mineral calcite ,V = 15cm³

mass of mineral calcite , m = 40.5g

we know, density is the ratio of mass and volume.

e.g., density = mass/volume

so, density of mineral calcite = m/V

= 40.5/15 g/cm³

= 8.1/3 cm³

= 2.7 g/cm³

hence, option (B) is correct
