A saree is 5m long and 1.5m wide. A border of width 50 cm is printed along its sides. Find the cost of printing the border at ₹200 per square metre.

= 2×(5+1.5) m
=2× 6.5 m
= 13 m.
Width of the border= 50 cm
13 m= 1300 cm.
So, (1300÷50) cm = 26 cm
Cost of per metre = ₹ 200
Perimeter= 2×(l+b)
= 2×( 50+26) cm
= 2×76 cm
= 152 cm
Cost of 152 cm = ₹ 200× 152 cm
= ₹ 30400 is the cost
