length of the saaree=5m
breadth of the saaree=1.6m

area of the lace=5×1.6m
=8.0 m

width of the lace=50cm i.e. 0.50 m
area of lace=(5-0.50+0.50)×(1.6-0.50+0.50)
=4m×0.6m
=2.4m

shinarians: answer is 2.07m^2 and 41.4 m

The length of the lace required when the width is 50 cm is 1100 cm and area of lace is 20700 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of saree = 5 m =500 cm

Breadth of saree = 1.6 m = 160 cm

Width of lace = 15 cm

Outer length =500+15+15=530 cm

Outer breadth = 160+15+15=190 cm

Area of lace = Outer area - Inner area

Area of lace = (530 \times 190)-(500 \times 160)

Area of lace =20700 cm^2

Now We are supposed to find the length of the lace required when the width is 50 cm

So, Length = 500 cm

Breadth = 50 cm

Perimeter = 2(l+b)=2(500+50)=1100 cm

Hence the length of the lace required when the width is 50 cm is 1100 cm and area of lace is 20700 sq.cm.
