A saree is 6 m long and 1.2 m wide. A border of width 30cm is printed along its sides. find the cost of printing the border at rupees 1 per 100cm square
answer is rupees 397

Answer:

Given, length = 6m=600 cm

breadth = 1.2 m = 120 cm

. . . Therefore , area of the Saree = 600x120 = 72000 sq cm

Again , Saree length without border= 600-30 -30 = 540cm

breadth = 120 -30 -30 = 60 cm

Therefore area of the Saree without border= 540 x 60 = 32400 sq cm

Now , the area of the border= 72000-32400 = 39600 sq cm

given 1 rupees = 100 sq an

Therefore , Total cost = 39600 ÷100 = 396 rupees
