Given that,

It is given that, a satellite of mass 200 kg revolving in a circular orbit of radius 2R around the earth has kinetic energy E.

To find,

Angular momentum of the satellite.

Solution,

The kinetic energy of the satellite is given by :

E=\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2 .....(1)

v is speed of satellite

Equation (1) can be rearranged as :

mv=\sqrt{2mE} .......(2)

The angular momentum of the satellite is given by :

L=mvr

Putting equation (2) in above formula as :

L=r\sqrt{2mE}

Putting, r = 2R and m = 200 kg we get :

L=2R\sqrt{2\times 200E}\\\\L=40R\sqrt{E}

So, the angular momentum of the satellite is 40R\sqrt{E}.
