A satellite revolves around Mars in a circular orbit. The time period of the satellite is 16 hrs and the height of the satellite is 10000 km from the ground. If another satellite is orbiting at 16000 km above the ground. what will be its time period?

Explanation:

for satellite 1,

speed = distance \div time \\

let speed be x.

therefore, x= 10000÷16.

therefore, x=625km/hr........(1)

for satellite 2,

speed= 625km/hr........[from (1)]

time = distance \div speed \\

Let time be X.

therefore, X=16000÷625.

therefore, X=25.6 hrs.

therefore time period for satellite 2 at a distance of 16000 km is 25.6 hrs.
