It is Tirtha Darshan Scheme for Senior Citizens .This Haryana govt scheme of pilgrimage for senior citizens is unique.

It serves both BPL and above BPL seniors. The latter bear 30% of cost and the rest is from govt. For BPL it is entirely free.

A scheme introduced under which a senior citizen with BPL card can go pilgrimage at government expense is called the Tirtha Darshan Scheme.

Explanation:

On the 6th March 2017, Minister of Haryana "Manohar Lal Khattar" had brought out this scheme for the senior citizens. All senior citizens who were above 60 years of age could avail of this scheme.

The Senior citizens were entitled to go on a pilgrimage anywhere in India free of cost. The total expenses for the travel would be taken care of by the government. This was mostly for the people living below the poverty line.
