We have, dimensions of room l=50 b=30 and width of verandah w=5. Required area= total area - room area=(l+2w)(b+2w)-lb=900. We have to lay 1 tile in 1/4 square metre i.e. 4 tiles in one square metre. Hence, we need 3600 tiles for 900 square metres.
